With offices in Galashiels and Duns we field a team with a wide
variety of expertise and combined experience of over 200 years.
Our present compliment of 30 personnel comprising thirteen Legal staff and seventeen support staff provides the resources to enable us to deliver the highest quality of service to our clients.

Ian graduated from the University of Edinburgh and after obtaining a Diploma in Social Administration at the London School of Economics, completed a Legal Apprenticeship in 1979. Ian joined Iain Smith & Partners in 1980 and has been a partner since 1983. His experience is broad, dealing with all aspects of Court Work, Employment Law, Conveyancing, Licensing and general advice for business clients. He is both a Notary Public and Writer to the Signet, was past Dean of the Berwickshire Faculty of Procurators and is currently a member of the Executive Committee of Family Mediation Borders, a member of the Family Law Association and of the British Agency for Adoption and Fostering.
